CBA League partners with Sportradar Integrity Services

The CBA League have signed a multi-year agreement with Sportradar Integrity Services – the world’s leading supplier of sports integrity solutions – to help further strengthen their integrity programme.

Speaking about the partnership, David Wang, CEO of CBA League said: “Safeguarding the integrity of Chinese Basketball is one of our highest priorities, and in looking to achieve this, Sportradar were a clear and obvious choice as our partner. Their track record in global sports integrity is unrivalled, and from our first interactions it was clear that they shared our vision of promoting the importance of integrity in a positive way. By adding their bet monitoring, education and intelligence services to our integrity operation, we are confident that CBA League games will continue to be played with the highest ethical standards”.

Under the agreement, all CBA League games will be monitored by Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System (FDS); the most technically advanced bet monitoring system available, and the only such system to be independently assessed and verified by recognized experts in the field of sports betting and integrity.

The partnership will also see Sportradar’s Intelligence & Investigation Services support the CBA League’s integrity programme, adding an extra layer of security to matches in the CBA League. All services will be provided by a dedicated team that includes Mandarin speaking and Chinese betting experts.

Sportradar currently works with some of the top basketball leagues in the world and in Asia, including the National Basketball Association (NBA), Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Japan B-League. In other sports, the company is also the integrity partner of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), Major League Baseball (MLB), as well as FIFA.

To help further safeguard the CBA League, Sportradar will be conducting integrity workshops for all 20 CBA League clubs, referees and commissioners annually, to educate participants on potential integrity threats, and on how they can promote correct and ethical behaviors within the league. The integrity workshops for the 2019/2020 CBA season have already been completed prior to the start of the season.

The CBA League is the top-tier professional men’s basketball league in China. Established in 1995, the CBA League currently consists of 20 clubs and have become the pre-eminent professional men’s basketball league in Asia.

Since the 2017-2018 season, the Chinese Basketball Association authorized CBA League (Beijing) Sports CO., LTD. the CBA League’s exclusive right of running competition and business development.

The 2019-2020 season will be the 25th season of the CBA League.
